Position Summary
The Associate AAC Specialist plays a vital role on Bridging Voice’s care service team, providing direct education, training, and ongoing support to people living with ALS and their caregivers around communication and computer access.
This role works closely with a multidisciplinary team—including Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and programmers—to ensure each client receives high-quality, personalized, and responsive support. The Associate AAC Specialist manages an independent caseload while contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture. This position is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Onboarding & Engagement
- Welcome and onboard new clients, clearly and compassionately explaining Bridging Voice’s mission, services, and approach
- Build trust and rapport with pALS and their families from the first point of contact
- Direct Client Support
- Manage an independent caseload, ensuring clients receive effective, timely, and individualized communication and computer access support
- Proactively follow up with clients to ensure they are getting the most out of their technology and feel supported over time
- Education & Training
- Provide clear, accessible education and training to pALS, caregivers, and—when appropriate—other professionals
- Support the development of educational materials for clients and partner organizations
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with internal team members and external partners to troubleshoot challenges and develop creative, client-centered solutions
- Participate in team meetings and strategic planning to support organizational growth while maintaining exceptional service quality
- Professional Growth
- Participate in ongoing trainings and stay current with developments in AAC, assistive technology, and access methods

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience working with people living with ALS and their caregivers
- Experience with Assistive Technology, alternate access methods, and AAC
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000 (commensurate with experience)
